A comparative evaluation of the
effects of commercially available
enzymes in the performance of
broilers

         NSP enzymes are added to feeds to augment the low levels of endogenous enzymes produced by the birds. Avemix 02-CS contains xylanase, β-glucanase and pectinase which improve the digestibility of feeds- thereby improving animal performance; and reduce feed costs by providing flexibility in feed formulation.

         A trial was conducted by one broiler farm in Cavite to compare commercially available enzymes in the market (one is Avemix 02-CS). It specifically aims to evaluate the enzymes relative to its effects on growth performance of broilers and to determine its cost-effectiveness. A total of 16, 200 birds were used in the 33-days-experiment and were randomly distributed to 3 houses with 6 pens each. Six dietary treatments were also randomly distributed to the pens following a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD), with the house as the blocking factor.
          Five-phase-diets are formulated with 100 kcal/kg reduction in the metabolizable energy; and commercially available enzymes are included at the suppliers’ recommended inclusion rates (Avemix 02-CS was included at 200g/ton feed). The following parameters are recorded and calculated: feed consumption, average live weight, average daily gain, feed efficiency, harvest recovery, and production efficiency factor. Production efficiency factor is calculated as follows:

Table 1 summarizes the performance of broilers fed diet with different commercially available enzymes.

       Results showed that broilers fed diet with AveMix 02-CS outstands those fed diet with other commercially available feed enzymes in terms of ADG and production efficiency factor. They also tended to have the lowest FC:ALW.

       AveMix® 02-CS has not just proven its efficacy in livestock and poultry production. It also OUTSTAND other enzymes as the most efficient feed enzyme.

 AveMix® 02-CS outperforms other enzymes.

… Highest average daily weight gain;
… Highest harvest recovery;
… Most efficient feed conversion ratio;
… And highest production efficiency factor
